Class Descriptions

”True yoga is not about the shape of your body, but the shape of your life. Yoga is not to be performed; yoga is to be lived. Yoga doesn’t care about what you have been; yoga cares about the person you are becoming. Yoga is designed for a vast and profound purpose, and for it to be truly called yoga, its essence must be embodied.” – Aadil Palkhivala

Beginner's Yoga

This class is designed as an introduction to the practice of yoga. Class is slower paced than an all-levels class, and focused on developing clear and safe alignment in foundational poses. Come to learn, play, and maybe even break a sweat in a supportive environment. All bodies are welcome.

Gentle Hatha

Gentle Hatha was created to be accessible to all types of students, and to support their mental, physical, and spiritual needs. This class seeks to provide modifications to common yoga poses. This form of yoga helps increase mobility and flexibility in a slow well rounded approach.

Gentle/
All Levels

This class creates the opportunity for us to meet ourselves just as we arrive on the mat.  With gentle movements and modifications for every body we can explore and open with breath, the areas that hold tension and release the whole body, mind and spirit into freedom. Prop possibilities can include blocks, bolsters, a chair and strap.  Come see and get free!

Low & Slow Flow

This class is gentle, slow, and most of the practice is low to the mat.  We focus on aligning  breath with movement which calms the mind and allows a deeper connection between mind and body.

Suitable for students of all levels who wish to reduce stress and anxiety while building flexibility, strength and balance.

Mixed Level Hatha

Develop confidence in the classical asanas (poses) of yoga & begin to explore variations, breathing techniques, and the yoga philosophy that is yoga’s cornerstone.

This is a yoga class to develop strength, flexibility and calm for every body-type, age and experience level. Absolutely no yoga experience is necessary, variations will be provided. Expansion variations will be available for those with more experience. Everyone participates in a way that best suits their own body and experience level.

Power Flow

Power Flow links the body movement with breath to create a dynamic flow of poses. This is a vigorous, detoxifying, strength-based class, working the body to the core, building flexibility, and endurance. Weaving together wisdom teachings and music to inspire physical, energetic, mental, intuitive, and blissful states of consciousness.

Be prepared to sweat! This class is suitable for intermediate to advanced practitioners. The practitioner should have a basic understanding of yoga asana (posture) alignment.

Qigong

Qigong (pronounced chee-gong) is an ancient mind-body practice that harnesses the power of breath, movement, and intention setting to create health and wellness within the body.

Qigong opens the flow of energy in meridians used in acupuncture and Chinese medicine. It enhances our ability to feel the Life Force underlying the physical world and to deepen our communication with it. Physically, slow gentle qigong movements warm tendons, ligaments, and muscles; tonify vital organs and connective tissue; and promote circulation of body fluids (blood, synovial, lymph). Thousands of studies have shown qigong effective in helping to heal life challenges ranging from high blood pressure and chronic illness to emotional frustration, mental stress, and spiritual crisis.

Serene & Supported Yoga

In this class, we utilize yoga props such as blocks, straps, bolsters, blankets, chairs, and the wall to help guide our bodies safely and comfortably into and out of yoga postures. Props help to make the practice of Yoga postures accessible for most bodies.

This class is not only suitable for those brand new to yoga but for seasoned practitioners as well! Come enjoy the experience of how yoga props can help enhance and deepen your practice.

Slow Flow

Slow Flow classes are a combination of Vinyasa Flow and Hatha yoga, with fewer transitions than Vinyasa yoga and more flow than Hatha yoga. Slow Flow classes help you find the space between poses while still retaining the gentle rhythm of a flow yoga class.

Vinyasa Flow

Vinyasa Flow is one of the most popular styles of Yoga practiced in the west. In this class you will be guided through elegant flows that are meant to nurture the feminine and masculine energy in the body through strengthening and stretching in an atmosphere in which you are free to practice intuitively.

In Sanskrit vinyasa means “to place in a special way,” and is characterized by stringing postures together so that you move from one to another, seamlessly, using breath.

This class often ends with either a guided meditation, mantra singing or sound immersion.

Open to all levels of practice, beginner's to experienced.

Vin Yin (Slow Flow Yoga)

Vin-Yin Yoga is a slow flow yoga sequence that combines a gentle Vinyasa Flow with Yin Yoga asanas (postures). The Vinyasa portion of this class warms up the body while riding it of excess Prana or energy. After this your body is ready to relax and lengthen during the Yin Yoga portion. It is a great combination to bring overall balance to the body and it's systems.

Yin Yoga

While “yang” yoga focuses on your muscles, yin yoga targets your deep connective tissues, like your fascia, ligaments, joints, and bones. It’s slower and more meditative, giving you space to turn inward and tune into both your mind and the physical sensations of your body.

Suitable for all experience levels.

Yoga Nidra Meditation

Progressive relaxation for restorative sleep!

Yoga Nidra is a form of guided meditation also known as “yogic sleep” or “effortless relaxation”. It’s usually practiced lying down with a teacher guiding the session. The practice draws our attention inwards, and we learn to surf between the states of wakefulness and sleep, where our body finds its natural state of equilibrium (homeostasis) – the breath balances and becomes quiet, unconscious and conscious aspects of the mind reveal themselves, and we fall into an innate state of deep, blissful awareness.

As we rest here, we can turn our attention easily and effortlessly to the very nature of awareness and consciousness. We start to experience the ‘deeper’ features of yogic teachings that previously we perhaps considered intangible, such as feeling our interconnected wholeness and becoming aware of our true, unified nature – expansive, inclusive, and deeply restful.

Yoga Nidra takes us effortlessly into a state of harmonious, restful being. From here, we can be healed, restored and awakened to our deepest, all-knowing, all-welcoming self. It’s a sublime practice, gaining popularity the world over, and ongoing research continues to prove its effectiveness.
