Class Descriptions

”True yoga is not about the shape of your body, but the shape of your life. Yoga is not to be performed; yoga is to be lived. Yoga doesn’t care about what you have been; yoga cares about the person you are becoming. Yoga is designed for a vast and profound purpose, and for it to be truly called yoga, its essence must be embodied.” – Aadil Palkhivala

All Levels

Come as you are! No flexibility required! All Levels yoga is suitable for beginners, experienced and everyone in between. This class offers modifications so that you can customize your class to fit your specific needs and level of expertise.

Beginners Yoga

This class is designed as an introduction to the practice of yoga. Class is slower paced than an all-levels class, and focused on developing clear and safe alignment in foundational poses. Come to learn, play, and maybe even break a sweat in a supportive environment. All bodies are welcome.

Candlelight Flow

Candlelight Flow will guide you through a strong asana sequence aimed at improving strength and flexibility while decreasing stress and uncluttering the mind.

The soft glow of candlelight guides your focus inward bringing a deeper awareness of the sensations within the body and the mind. In this busy world of constant outer stimulation, the quiet light invites you to rely less on what you see and more on what you hear as your internal gaze listens to your body. Let your intuition guide you as you flow with grace through asana - strength, balance and flexibility.

Gentle Hatha

Gentle Hatha was created to be accessible to all types of students, and to support their mental, physical, and spiritual needs. This class seeks to provide modifications to common yoga poses. This form of yoga helps increase mobility and flexibility in a slow well rounded approach.

Gentle/All Levels Yoga

This class creates the opportunity for us to meet ourselves just as we arrive on the mat.  With gentle movements and modifications for every body we can explore and open with breath, the areas that hold tension and release the whole body, mind and spirit into freedom. Prop possibilities can include blocks, bolsters, a chair and strap.  Come see and get free!

Mixed Level Hatha Yoga

Develop confidence in the classical asanas (poses) of yoga & begin to explore variations, breathing techniques, and the yoga philosophy that is yoga’s cornerstone.

This is a yoga class to develop strength, flexibility and calm for every body-type, age and experience level. Absolutely no yoga experience is necessary, variations will be provided. Expansion variations will be available for those with more experience. Everyone participates in a way that best suits their own body and experience level.

Power Flow

Power Flow links the body movement with breath to create a dynamic flow of poses. This is a vigorous, detoxifying, strength-based class, working the body to the core, building flexibility, and endurance. Weaving together wisdom teachings and music to inspire physical, energetic, mental, intuitive, and blissful states of consciousness.

Be prepared to sweat! This class is suitable for intermediate to advanced practitioners. The practitioner should have a basic understanding of yoga asana (posture) alignment.

Rest & Restore

Rest & Restore is a restful yoga practice that holds yoga poses (asanas) for a longer duration using props like yoga blocks, blankets, and bolsters. This is a class for deep relaxation that is designed to cultivate energy and heal the body. This practice will help to slow the mind and body down, generating awareness and inner peace.

Serene & Supported Yoga

In this class, we utilize yoga props such as blocks, straps, bolsters, blankets, chairs, and the wall to help guide our bodies safely and comfortably into and out of yoga postures. Props help to make the practice of Yoga postures accessible for most bodies.

This class is not only suitable for those brand new to yoga but for seasoned practitioners as well! Come enjoy the experience of how yoga props can help enhance and deepen your practice.

Slow Flow

Slow Flow classes are a combination of Vinyasa Flow and Hatha yoga, with fewer transitions than Vinyasa yoga and more flow than Hatha yoga. Slow Flow classes help you find the space between poses while still retaining the gentle rhythm of a flow yoga class.

Vinyasa Flow

Vinyasa Flow is one of the most popular styles of Yoga practiced in the west. In this class you will be guided through elegant flows that are meant to nurture the feminine and masculine energy in the body through strengthening and stretching in an atmosphere in which you are free to practice intuitively.

In Sanskrit vinyasa means “to place in a special way,” and is characterized by stringing postures together so that you move from one to another, seamlessly, using breath.

This class often ends with either a guided meditation, mantra singing or sound immersion.

Open to all levels of practice, beginners to experienced.

Vin-Yin (Slow Flow Yoga)

Vin-Yin Yoga is a slow flow yoga sequence that combines a gentle Vinyasa Flow with Yin Yoga asanas (postures). The Vinyasa portion of this class warms up the body while riding it of excess Prana or energy. After this your body is ready to relax and lengthen during the Yin Yoga portion. It is a great combination to bring overall balance to the body and it's systems.

Yin Yoga

While “yang” yoga focuses on your muscles, yin yoga targets your deep connective tissues, like your fascia, ligaments, joints, and bones. It’s slower and more meditative, giving you space to turn inward and tune into both your mind and the physical sensations of your body.

Suitable for all experience levels.

Yoga for Healthy Aging

Yoga for Healthy Aging is based on the teachings of Baxter Bell and focuses on strength, flexibility, balance, agility, cardiovascular health, brain health, stress management, and more.

As we ALL age, this class will be the perfect toolbox to set you up for a lifetime of physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

Suitable for all experience levels and ages.

YogaQi

YogaQi (pronounced "yoga chi") uses flowing Qigong exercises and Yoga postures to stretch, energize and relax your entire body, combining breathing, movement and mental focus to explore, enhance, and circulate the body’s Qi (energy system).

Each class will leave you feeling relaxed and rejuvinated with a focus on stength and balance.

Taught by Svetlana (Lana) Parquette, Lana is extensively trained in the practice and teaching of both qigong and yoga. She has long been fascinated by the connections between these two ancient mind-body practices. In YogaQi, the two arts are bridged through their common emphasis on mindfulness and coordination of breathing and body movement.
